Position:        Tenant Services Program Director

 

Hours:          Fulltime, limited evenings/weekend work required. Flexible schedule possible

Salary:         Equivalent of $20.00/hour; $41,600/year

 

Description:

The Tenant Services Program Director oversees programming and supervises staff within all homeless services programs. Responsibilities include planning the programs from start to completion while meeting deadlines and milestones, and maintaining processes and budgets; oversight of coordination and administration in all aspects of ongoing Tenant Services grants and programs; and supervising, planning, organizing, staffing, and controlling program activities.

 

Reporting:

The Tenant Services Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director and serves on the Executive Leadership Team.

 

Job Duties:                           

Program Management:

  • Grant Writing
  • Tenant Services and Bilingual Program Reporting
  • Mediation Reporting (Service Point entries; data quality; Tenant Services Report)
  • Housing Counseling (HC) Oversight (Maintaining accuracy and quality of information provided; answering HC questions; ensuring statistics are maintained accurately and completely; program performance; ensuring functioning equipment and systems; callback systems, ensuring appropriate coverage)
  • Bilingual Counseling Oversight
  • Mediation Program Oversight (Scheduling mediators; ensuring coverage of mediation program; program performance; designing forms and materials)
  • Supervise Staff for Tenant Services (TS) and HC
  • Onboarding TS and HC Staff
  • Providing Bi-Weekly Trainings for TS and HC Staff

 

Volunteer and Intern Management:

  • Recruiting Volunteers and Interns
  • Meeting Minimum Volunteer Hours
  • Onboarding Training Volunteers and Interns
  • Answering Volunteer and Intern HC Questions
  • Providing Volunteer and Interns Materials
  • Ensuring Strong Volunteer and Intern Retention

 

Outreach and Development:

  • Ensuring Completion of Housing Counseling, Bilingual Housing Counseling, and Mediation Outreach Deliverables
  • Scheduling and Ensuring Staffing at Tabling Events
  • Ensuring the Drafting of Public Notices, Press Releases, and Other Information Necessary for Outreach Activities
  • Planning, Executing and Having Staffed Housing Law Seminar Series
  • Ensuring Informative Materials Surrounding Housing Law Topics
  • Engaging with Community Shares, Social Justice Center, and Other Community Partners
  • Participate in and Supervise Development, Stewardship, Fundraising, and Income Generating Activities

 

Law Changes:

  • Continually Maintain Personal Expertise in Tenant/Landlord Law
  • Organize Staff and Volunteers to Advocate on Issues Related to Housing as a Human Right in Wisconsin
  • Attending City of Madison and Dane County Meetings That Influence Spending Priorities Related to Tenant Services
  • Ensure Maintenance of Housing Counseling Training Guide
  • Ensure Accuracy of Written Materials
  • Ensure Accuracy of Website Materials
  • Ensure Development of New Materials for Law Changes When Necessary
  • Develop Trainings for Staff, Volunteers and Interns
  • Recruit an Attorney to Provide Legal Advice Related to Housing Law to Staff

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of management and supervision experience.  Additional experience with fundraising, grantwritting and program design preferred.  Applicants who do not hold educational or experiential requirements but believe they hold necessary skills from other means are encouraged to apply.
