Housing Justice

Housing is a basic human right. When people have a safe, stable place to live, they are better equipped to work on other parts of their lives.
Housing is healthcare. When people have safe, stable housing, they are better able to take care of their physical and mental health by making appointments, staying near to a support network, having a safe place to store medicine or medical tools, and reducing stress.
Stable housing benefits everyone. When our neighbors thrive, our community thrives.

2024 Data

In 2024, Tenant Resource Center:

Assisted tenants in 4,444 eviction court hearings and trials
Distributed over $10,000,000 in rental and utility assistance
Mediated 262 tenant and landlord disputes
Helped tenants and landlords understand their rights 21,258 times
Prevented more than 2,000 evictions

Why are donations during The Big Share so important?

Donations during this event are unrestricted, which means we can provide additional support that may not be covered by our other sources of funding. Examples include rental assistance when government funds cannot help, financial assistance with application fees, moving costs, bus passes, gas cards, or any other urgent needs that help tenants overcome barriers to stable housing.
